Based in Minneapolis, MN, Troy Dillard graduated from Mankato State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in law enforcement and corrections. Troy Dillard has served as a law enforcement officer and community advocate for over two decades.
Throughout his career, Troy Dillard has earned multiple honors including a 2007 Medal of Valor for his contributions during the 35W bridge collapse and the Lifesaving Award in 2012. More recently he was honored as the Northside Community Builder of the Year in 2021. He also received the Hawthorne Huddle Award of Appreciation in 2023 and the Minnesota Vikings’ MVP of the Year Award.
Presently, Troy Dillard serves with the Minneapolis Police Department. In this role since 2006, he performs his law enforcement duties with the goal of protecting lives. As part of this work, he has been entrusted with guarding high-profile individuals. Early in his career, he was a deputy sheriff for eight years with the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office.
Outside of his professional duties, Mr. Dillard is passionate about weight training. He also enjoys basketball and football.
